Anni ’30, in un piccolo paesino in provincia di Ascoli Piceno… Luciano, simpatizzante del fascismo come la stragrande maggioranza degli italiani, è il proprietario di un ristorante, che crede tuttavia di poter vivere secondo le regole che si è dato, in una sorta di isolamento dal mondo esterno. Ma sulla vetrina che dà sull’antica piazza, insieme ai segnali preoccupanti di qualcosa che sta per accadere nel mondo, compare una ragazza che porta con sé un segreto. Si chiama Anna e riesce a farsi assumere nel ristorante. Da allora per Luciano la vita non sarà più la stessa e insieme ai pericoli che si trova a fronteggiare, c’è quello più grande di tutti: l’amore. L’ombra del giorno è una storia d’amore, in quei difficili anni.

ENGLISH:

1930s, in a small village in the province of Ascoli Piceno… Luciano, a Fascist sympathizer like the vast majority of Italians, is the owner of a restaurant, who nonetheless believes he can live according to the rules he has given himself, in a kind of isolation from the outside world. But on the window that he overlooks the ancient square, along with the worrying signs of something about to happen in the world, a girl appears who carries a secret with her. Her name is Anna and she manages to get hired in the restaurant. Since then, life will never be the same for Luciano and together with the dangers he faces, there is the greatest one of all: love. The shadow of the day is a love story, in those difficult years.
