Fantastica interpretazione di Totò, il quale affronta, in questo film, ben sei ruoli, e cioè cinque fratelli, tra cui una sorella, e un fratellastro. Nei panni di Laudomia (la sorella), poi, Totò è irresistibile, così come era “affascinante” in un ruolo simile in “Totò truffa ’62”, dove, travestito con sembianze femminee, seduceva un intransigente padrone di casa, interpretato dal bravissimo Luigi Pavese che, peraltro, è presente nella pellicola in oggetto col ruolo del commissario incaricato delle indagini. Forse parlo da amante di Totò, ma per me questo film non può assolutamente mancare in una videoteca.

Il misterioso killer Diabolicus fa fuori ricchi nobili: chi si nasconde dietro la sua terribile maschera? Totò in gran forma in 6 ruoli diversi (tra cui una donna: la sfida con il Sangue blu di Guiness è aperta) per una gustosa parodia dei film gialli. Non solo diverte, ma perfino la trama, ancorché semplice, si fa seguire. Ma va da sé che il vero punto di forza è il camaleontico Totò, che nel noir sguazza con insospettabile gusto. Da vedere.

A fantastic performance by Totò, who takes on six roles in this film, namely five siblings, including a sister, and a stepbrother. As Laudomia (his sister), Totò is irresistible, just as he was “charming” in a similar role in “Totò truffa ’62,” where, disguised as a woman, he seduced an uncompromising landlord, played by the excellent Luigi Pavese, who also appears in the film in question as the commissioner in charge of the investigation. Perhaps I speak as a lover of Totò, but for me, this film is an absolute must-have in any video library.

The mysterious killer Diabolicus takes out wealthy nobles: who is hiding behind his terrifying mask? Totò is in top form in six different roles (including a woman: the challenge with the Guinness Book of Records is on) in a delightful parody of giallo films. Not only is it entertaining, but even the plot, though simple, is easy to follow. But it goes without saying that the real strength is the chameleon-like Totò, who wallows in noir with unexpected gusto. Worth seeing.
