Sicuri che alla Terra non restino che cinquant’anni di vita, gli abitanti del lontano pianeta Gemello inviano fra noi, facendolo atterrare a Roma, l’extraterrestre Bix. Suo compito è di trasportare su Cervello dodici terrestri, perché si possa scoprire se essi sono adatti a viverci. Bix, che si distingue dagli umani, in apparenza, soltanto perché ha il viso verde, in realtà è anche dotato di poteri sovrannaturali. L’uso di questi, che Bix fa per riparare torti, sventare truffe, impedire violenze, tramuta ben presto in ostilità, da parte dei potenti, l’iniziale entusiasmo con cui egli era stato accolto. Alla vigilia della sua partenza per Gemello, con i dodici terrestri disposti a seguirlo perché convinti dalla sua bontà e dai suoi “miracoli” scatta una trappola predisposta dai potenti per far apparire Bix come nemico dell’umanità. A farsene strumento, anche se costretta da un ricatto, è una ex spacciatrice di droga, che Bix aveva riscattata. Un ordigno posto nell’astronave la distrugge, per cui Bix non può più ripartire per lo spazio, ma è condannato a vivere per sempre sulla Terra.

Sure that the Earth is no more than fifty years of age, the inhabitants of the distant Gemello planet send to us, landing in Rome, the extraterrestrial Bix. His job is to carry twelve terrestrial brains to find out if they are fit to live. Bix, which differs from humans, apparently, just because it has its green face, in fact it is also endowed with supernatural powers. To do this, even if forced by a blackmail, is a former drug dealer, which Bix had redeemed. An ordnance placed in the ship destroys it, so Bix can no longer rest on space, but is condemned to live forever on Earth.
