La storia incredibile di Leone Jacovacci: un pugile tecnicamente perfetto, agile, tenace, intelligente, potente. Parlava perfettamente tre lingue. Era italiano e forse anche fascista. Sicuramente non antifascista. Ma per gli italiani il colore della sua pelle faceva la differenza. Anche se aveva tutte le carte in regola per entrare nella storia del pugilato, il Fascismo lo ha cancellato dalla storia italiana, come testimoniato dal filmato dell’Istituto Luce dell’incontro del 24 giugno del 1928 manomesso e tagliato sulla parte finale dove il pugile di colore venne incoronato campione d’Europa. Il film racconta parallelamente il motivo per cui Mauro Valeri, sposato con una etiope, ha riscoperto Leone Jacovacci. Oltre a essere una intensa storia sportiva, il documentario riscopre una storia dimenticata che pochi conoscono e che potrebbe ridare a Jacovacci il posto che merita nello sport italiano e che permette a tutti noi una riflessione sul nostro presente, venato di tracce di un razzismo strisciante.

The incredible story of Leone Jacovacci: a technically perfect, agile, tenacious, intelligent, powerful boxer. He spoke three languages ​​perfectly. He was Italian and maybe even fascist.
