Laura, amata insegnante di un liceo di Torino, ha appena concluso la sua relazione con Tommaso, quando Andrea, padre di uno dei suoi studenti, le chiede di uscire. Andrea è affascinante, simpatico, uno stimato chirurgo. La serata tra i due scorre in modo piacevole, tra loro c’è complicità e attrazione. Sembrerebbe un appuntamento perfetto eppure, Laura e Andrea non immaginano quanto questo incontro cambierà le loro vite e le terribili conseguenze che avrà sulle loro famiglie e sulle rispettive cerchie di amici, colleghi e conoscenti. La mattina dopo, infatti, Laura denuncia Andrea per stupro. Non ci sono prove, solo le due testimonianze a confronto. Entrambi sembrano sconvolti e in buona fede. Laura, a beloved high school teacher in Turin, has just ended her relationship with Tommaso when Andrea, the father of one of her students, asks her out. Andrea is charming, friendly, and a respected surgeon. The evening between the two flows pleasantly, with complicity and attraction between them. It seems like a perfect date, yet Laura and Andrea have no idea how much this meeting will change their lives and the terrible consequences it will have on their families and their respective circles of friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. The next morning, Laura reports Andrea for rape. There is no evidence, only the two opposing testimonies. Both appear shocked and sincere. It’s up to the police to uncover the truth. But what really happened? What lies behind their pasts? This is what the two inspectors must uncover amidst prejudices, lies, and twists. Truth and lies go hand in hand in this tense and gripping thriller that examines both characters’ points of view and observes the two sides of the truth, asking one question: are there really two sides to every story?
