Nicolino, commesso nella farmacia di sua zia, ottiene un breve permesso. Per incarico della zia ha mandato al giornale un avviso-rèclame, riguardante una specialità della farmacia, col proprio ritratto. Per un errore del tipografo, il ritratto di Nicolino viene invece riprodotto con un altro avviso, riguardante un efferato assassino, che la polizia ricerca. Scambiato dai lettori del giornale con l’assassino, Nicolino deve fuggire e, travestitosi da hostess, sale su un aereo, diretto a Siviglia. Anche qui viene scambiato con l’assassino da un criminale autentico, che ha visto il fatale avviso. Il malvivente, che venera in lui un maestro, domanda la sua cooperazione per uccidere e depredare una miliardaria americana. Per sottrarsi alla persecuzione dell’incomodo ammiratore Nicolino si traveste da torero: prendendolo per un torero autentico, l’americana si innamora di lui. Ecco Nicolino costretto, suo malgrado, a scendere nell’arena. Succede che il toro si rompe le corna cozzando contro un vassoio metallico, che Nicolino ha messo sotto la giubba e ne muore, mentre Nicolino sviene. Riaprendo gli occhi dopo un lungo svenimento, vede al suo capezzale l’americana, che gli protesta la sua ammirazione e il suo amore.
ENGLISH:
Nicolino, a clerk at his aunt’s pharmacy, is granted a brief leave of absence. At his aunt’s request, he has sent the newspaper an advertisement for a specialty of the pharmacy, featuring his own portrait. Due to a typo, Nicolino’s portrait is instead reproduced with another advertisement, concerning a brutal murderer whom the police are seeking. Mistaken by the newspaper’s readers for the murderer, Nicolino must flee and, disguised as a stewardess, boards a plane bound for Seville. Here, too, he is mistaken for the murderer by a genuine criminal who has seen the fateful advertisement. The criminal, who venerates him as a master, asks for his cooperation in killing and robbing an American billionaire. To escape the persecution of his unwelcome admirer, Nicolino disguises himself as a bullfighter; mistaking him for a genuine bullfighter, the American woman falls in love with him. Thus, Nicolino is forced, against his will, to enter the arena. The bull breaks its horns when it hits a metal tray Nicolino had placed under his jacket, and dies. Nicolino faints. Opening his eyes after a long faint, he sees the American woman at his bedside, protesting her admiration and love.
