ITALIAN DESCRIPTION:
Un appartamento incendiato al centro di Manhattan, vigili del fuoco e polizia frugano ovunque, in mezzo ai resti carbonizzati, in cerca di una traccia o di un indizio per risalire ai colpevoli. Sul posto ci sono Eddie Flemming, ispettore della squadra omicidi, personaggio popolare a tal punto da meritare le copertine di diffusi periodici, e Jordy Warsaw, investigatore della sezione incendi dolosi. I due hanno carattere opposto, ma sono costretti a lavorare insieme. Dopo alcuni accertamenti, i sospetti si concentrano su due uomini dall’accento russo che vanno in giro con una piccola videocamera digitale. Si chiamano Emil e Oleg, ed è il secondo che, con lo strumento in mano, fa sapere di voler filmare le imprese criminali dell’altro, farne un film di successo e acquistare fama e ricchezza nel “paese dove chiunque può diventare qualcuno”. Quando il cerchio si sta stringendo intorno a loro, i due riescono a catturare Eddie, e decidono di eliminarlo perché è famoso e andrà benissimo per lanciare il loro film.
A questo punto Robert, un anchorman televisivo senza scrupoli, si inserisce per sfruttare tutta la situazione. Jordy minaccia Emil, riesce a farlo arrestare ma poi viene sospeso dal servizio. Allora Jordy uccide Emil, e poi anche Oleg che sta riprendendo la scena. Prima di allontanarsi, Jordy sferra un pugno al giornalista della rete televisiva. Ma questi, rivolto alla telecamera, conclude: “Ha prevalso la verità”.

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION:
A burned-down apartment in downtown Manhattan, firefighters and police rummage everywhere, among the charred remains, looking for a trace or a clue to find the culprits. On the spot are Eddie Flemming, inspector of the homicide squad, a popular figure to the point of deserving the covers of popular magazines, and Jordy Warsaw, investigator of the arson section. The two are opposite in character, but are forced to work together. After some investigation, the suspicions focus on two men with a Russian accent walking around with a small digital video camera. Their names are Emil and Oleg, and it is the latter who, with the instrument in hand, makes it known that he wants to film the criminal deeds of the other, make a successful film of it and acquire fame and wealth in the “country where anyone can become someone”. When the circle is tightening around them, the two manage to capture Eddie, and decide to take him out because he’s famous and will be fine to launch their movie. At this point Robert,
an unscrupulous television anchorman, steps in to exploit the whole situation. Jordy threatens Emil, manages to get him arrested but is then suspended from duty. Then Jordy kills Emil, and then also Oleg who is filming the scene. Before walking away, Jordy punches the reporter from the television network. But the latter, turning to the camera, concludes: “The truth prevailed”.
