In Paris, in 1896, can-can is considered a scandalous and illegal dance, but Simone, a tabarin owner, can stage him every night in his room, with the help of François. Invited to sue before an old lawyer, Paul Barrière, a habitual frequentator of the tabarin, he would like to absolve her but unmovable is instead the young judge added Philippe Forestier. The latter in a suspension of the trial, determined to get evidence for the conviction, attends the venue and persuades Simone to show him the dance but soon falls in love with her and asks her to marry her. François accepts, but on the evening of the official engagement he revenges himself by drunk Simone, who performs in a scandalous dance. After a few events there is organized a great can-can show, and the guests can see that there is nothing immoral in it. Calm the waters François and Simone will get married.
