In ten episodes, which mark one of the longest and most compelling stories of early Italian television.

It’s the Eighties and for Italian television it’s a time of heroes. It is impossible that the greatest and most nationally popular of all is missing: Giuseppe Garibaldi. Rai Due entrusts Luigi Magni with the creation of an important but not rhetorical film. Which recounts only one period of the long story of the hero of two worlds: the one between the liberation of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and the first exile in Caprera, when the dream of an immediately united and more democratic Italy receded over time. Franco Nero, a popular interpreter of many Italian westerns, gives the face and voice to the General, surrounded by a host of supporting actors, all of the highest order. The philological scruple of the staging and the soundtrack by Nicola Piovani contribute to the great success of the film.
