Primo Michele Levi (italiano: 31 luglio 1919 – 11 aprile 1987) è stato un chimico italiano, partigiano, scrittore e sopravvissuto all’Olocausto ebraico.

Appassionata ricognizione sulla figura di Primo Levi, nutrita di incontri e di interviste, di ricerche di archivio e di corrispondenze inedite, costate anni di lavoro. Per la scrittrice francese di origine ebraica, raccontare un’esistenza così tragica e intensa come quella di Primo Levi, che nel 1987, al colmo del successo, si suicidò, ha significato anche indagare sui perché del razzismo e dell’odio. This biography, questioning the author’s life outside his work, seeks to understand why such a modest and discreet man, despite his international fame, chose such an aggressive death, a gesture which, made by a man of Levi’s moral stature, it is not just a private act. Primo Michele Levi (Italian:31 July 1919 – 11 April 1987) was an Italian chemist, partisan, writer, and Jewish Holocaust survivor.

Passionate recognition of the figure of Primo Levi, nourished by meetings and interviews, archival research and unpublished correspondence, costing years of work. For the French writer of Jewish origin, recounting an existence as tragic and intense as that of Primo Levi, who committed suicide in 1987, at the height of his success, also meant investigating the reasons for racism and hatred. For her, the whole work and life of the Turin writer are marked by a double need: that of the witness who has seen the absolute humiliation of man before his physical elimination, and that of the survivor who does not despair of expressing and explaining the unspeakable.
