Nel 1918, durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale, Stanlio e Ollio sono in trincea insieme, finché il loro contingente parte e a Stanlio viene affidato il compito di fare la guardia alla postazione. Trascorsi vent’anni dopo, Ollio è felicemente sposato daun anno mentre Stanlio è rimasto ancora in trincea senza che nessuno gli abbia detto che la guerra è finita, fino a quando un pilota di passaggio lo avverte e viene così rimpatriato. Stanlio e Ollio si ritrovano alla Casa del Soldato e vanno a casa di quest’ultimo per una rimpatriata insieme alla moglie. Ma la donna non è affatto d’accordo della cosa anche perché arrabbiata del ritardo del marito.

ENGLISH:

In 1918, during the First World War, Laurel and Hardy are in the trenches together, until their contingent leaves and Stanlio is entrusted with the task of guarding the post. Twenty years later, Ollio has been happily married for a year while Stanlio still remained in the trenches without anyone telling him that the war is over, until a passing pilot warns him and is thus repatriated. Laurel and Hardy meet at the Soldier’s House and go to the latter’s house for a reunion with his wife. But the woman does not agree with it at all, also because she is angry at her husband’s delay.
