Totò, nella sua attività di ladruncolo, è costretto, per sfuggire alle guardie, a nascondersi in un barile sulla banchina del porto. Il barile viene caricato su una nave pirata che prende il largo verso avventurose imprese. A bordo Totò viene scoperto e condannato a morte. Ma la sua fortuna lo salva dalla corda fatale e lo fa accogliere tra i pirati. Frattanto all’orizzonte appare una nave spagnola che accosta per attaccare la nave pirata. Totò, armato di una spada calamitata, si comporta come un vero condottiero sgominando avversari su avversari. Dopo la battaglia, viene nominato ufficiale e la nomina è acclamata a gran voce dall’equipaggio. Quindi i pirati, per impadronirsi di un tesoro, attaccano e occupano il castello del Governatore spagnolo. Totò aiuta però la figlia del Governatore sfidando le ire del Pirata Nero. Tra i due si accende una lotta che termina con la vittoria di Totò, grazie alla sua agilità ed alla sua astuzia. I rinforzi spagnoli catturano alla fine tutti i pirati.

ENGLISH:

Totò, in his petty thieving career, is forced to hide in a barrel on the dock to escape the guards. The barrel is loaded onto a pirate ship that sets sail on adventurous adventures. On board, Totò is discovered and sentenced to death. But his good fortune saves him from the fatal rope and earns him admission among the pirates. Meanwhile, a Spanish ship appears on the horizon and approaches to attack the pirate vessel. Totò, armed with a magnetic sword, behaves like a true leader, vanquishing one adversary after another. After the battle, he is appointed an officer, a nomination loudly acclaimed by the crew. Then, the pirates, seeking to seize treasure, attack and occupy the Spanish Governor’s castle. However, Totò helps the Governor’s daughter, braving the wrath of the Black Pirate. A battle ensues between the two, which ends with Totò’s victory, thanks to his agility and cunning. Spanish reinforcements eventually capture all the pirates.
