Il marchesino Gastone, dopo un litigio con l’amante, attrice di rivista, fugge in Africa e s’arruola nella Legione Straniera. La marchesa madre, preoccupata per la sorte del figliolo, ordina al suo maggiordomo, Totò, di recarsi in Africa per star vicino a Gastone. Per un equivoco Totò, invece d’arruolarsi nella Legione Straniera, finisce nelle file dei ribelli marocchini, che lo prendono per il figlio dello sceicco, morto poco tempo prima, e lo nominano sceicco. In tale veste, Totò riesce a salvare la vita a Gastone che, venuto per catturare lo sceicco, resta molto sorpreso nel riconoscere nel presunto capo dei ribelli il proprio maggiordomo. I due riescono a fuggire, ingannando le sentinelle, ma in seguito ad un colpo di sole Gastone impazzisce ed è convinto d’aver catturato veramente il figlio dello sceicco. Esposto al pericolo di esser fucilato dai francesi, Totò viene salvato in extremis da Gastone fortunatamente rinsavito. Attraverso nuove avventure, i due vanno a finire in una città sotterranea, l’antica Atlantide, dove regna Antinea. Dopo esser sfuggiti miracolosamente a nuovi pericoli mortali, Totò, Gastone, la sua amica e Antinea si salvano e fuggono in Europa, mentre la città sotterranea salta per aria.

ENGLISH:

The Marquis Gastone, after a quarrel with his lover, a magazine actress, flees to Africa and enlists in the Foreign Legion. The marquise mother, worried about her son’s fate, orders her butler, Totò, to go to Africa to be close to Gastone. Due to a misunderstanding, Totò, instead of joining the Foreign Legion, ends up in the ranks of the Moroccan rebels, who take him for the son of the sheik, who died shortly before, and name him sheik. In this capacity, Totò manages to save the life of Gastone who, having come to capture the sheikh, is very surprised to recognize his butler in the presumed rebel leader. The two manage to escape, deceiving the sentries, but following a sunstroke Gastone goes mad and is convinced that he has really captured the sheik’s son. Exposed to the danger of being shot by the French, Totò is saved at the last minute by Gastone, fortunately revived. Through new adventures, the two end up in an underground city, ancient Atlantis, where Antinea reigns. After miraculously escaping new mortal dangers, Totò, Gastone, her friend and Antinea escape and flee to Europe, while the underground city blows up.
