Philippe Lesmele (Vincent Lindon) is a manager in deep crisis: he is divorcing his wife (Sandrine Kiberlain) and has allowed himself to be swallowed up by the pressures of work. With his back against the wall, he no longer knows how to respond to the pressing requests of his superiors. Yesterday they wanted a manager, today an executor of their layoff plan: the breaking point is now imminent. After The Law of the Market and At War, Brizé closes the trilogy on work with a sharp political-social drama on the terminal crisis of capitalism and the loneliness of a man who is no longer willing to give up his freedom.
